Overview

Steady is a wellness app that processes health data from your Apple Watch to provide circadian rhythm insights and health confidence scores. Your privacy is fundamental to how Steady is built.

Data Collection

Steady does not collect any personal data.

All health data processing occurs entirely on your iPhone and Apple Watch. No data is transmitted to any server, third-party service, or cloud infrastructure operated by the developer.

Health Data Used

Steady reads the following data types from Apple HealthKit with your explicit permission:

• Heart Rate (resting, waking pulse, workout HR zones)
• Heart Rate Variability (HRV)
• Sleep Analysis (stages, duration)
• Blood Oxygen (SpO2)
• Respiratory Rate
• Wrist Temperature (Series 8+ only)
• Step Count and Stand Hours
• Active Energy Burned
• Workouts (type, duration, for strain scoring)
• VO2 Max
• Walking Speed, Step Length, Gait Stability
• Stair Speed and Fall Count
• Environmental Sound Levels
• Menstrual Flow (opt-in, for cycle phase detection)

This data is used solely to compute your personal baseline, generate circadian schedule recommendations, calculate your health confidence score, compute strain and recovery metrics, and detect menstrual cycle phase for more accurate health alerts.

Data Steady Writes to HealthKit

With your permission, Steady can write:

• Mindful Minutes (from focus sessions)
• Dietary Water (from hydration tracking)
• Caffeine intake (from habit logging)
• Menstrual Flow (from cycle date input)

Location Data

Steady uses your location only to provide weather-aware coaching tips via Apple WeatherKit. Location is accessed on-device at processing time and is never stored or transmitted. You can deny location access and Steady will skip weather features.

Data Storage

• Health data is read from HealthKit and aggregated into daily summaries stored in SwiftData on your device.
• If iCloud sync is enabled, your data syncs between your own devices via your personal iCloud account. The developer has no access to this data.
• No analytics, crash reporting, or telemetry SDKs are included in the app.

Subscriptions

Steady offers optional premium subscriptions managed through Apple's App Store. Subscription transactions are handled entirely by Apple. The developer does not receive or store any payment information.

Third-Party Services

Steady uses Apple WeatherKit to provide weather-aware coaching tips. Weather data is fetched on-device by Apple's framework and is subject to Apple's privacy policy. No other third-party services, SDKs, or APIs are used. The app contains zero external dependencies.

Data Deletion

Uninstalling Steady removes all locally stored data. Health data in Apple HealthKit is not affected by uninstalling Steady and remains under your control through the Health app. To delete iCloud-synced data, go to Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > Manage Storage on your device.

Children's Privacy

Steady is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
